2010 Community Scholarship Awards

 

The Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship was awarded to:

  •  Shelbi Boehman, graduate of Heritage Hills High School.  Shelbie is the daughter of Tracey Gelarden and Jeffrey Boehman.  She plans on attending Indiana University Southeast to study Graphic Design.  
  • Seth Stallman, graduate of Heritage Hills High School.  Seth is the son of Rebecca Rau.  He plans on attending Indiana University Southeast to study English. 
  • Leandra Whalen, graduate of Heritage Hills High School.   Leandra is the daughter of Jennifer Mattingly and David Whalen.  She plans on attending the University of Southern Indiana to study Pediatrics. 

 

The Raleigh and Thelma Abshier Scholarship was awarded to: 

  • Andrew Beasley of South Spencer High School, the son of Jeannie Bealsey and John Sweet.  Andrew plans to attend the University of Evansville to study Music Education. 

 

The Brauns Family Scholarship was awarded to:

  • Samantha Byers of South Spencer High School, the daughter of of Matthew and Stephanie Byers.  Samantha plans on attending the University of Evansville to study either Engineering or Nursing. 

 

The Community Trust Scholarship was awarded to:

  • Klaire Jeffries of South Spencer High School, daughter of Steve and Cindy Jeffries.  Klaire plans on attending Purdue University to seek a degree in Engineering.    

The Harold and Thelma Hunter Scholarship was awarded to:

  •  Lesley Kleiser of Heritage Hills High School, daughter of Tamara and Timothy Kleiser.  Lesley plans on attending Indiana University. 

 

The Mabel Mason Ryan Memorial Scholarship was awarded to:

  •  Kayla Fortune of South Spencer High School, daughter of Catherine and Michael Fortune.  Kayla plans on attending the University of Evansville seeking a career in Physical Therapy. 

  • Christen Jessee of South Spencer High School, daughter of Stephanie and Brent Jessee.  Christen plans on attending the University of Southern Indiana to study Pre-Physical Therapy or Biology. 

  • Brittany Verble of South Spencer High School, daughter of Derrick and Iva Verble.  Brittany plans on attending the University of Southern Indiana to study Biology or Pre-Med. 

 

The Mike Ryan Memorial Scholarship was awarded to:

  • Amanda Barnett of South Spencer High School, daughter of Debra and Kerry Barnett.  Amanda plans on attending Belmont University to study Commercial Music. 

  • Kyla Gogel of Heritage Hills High School, daughter of Julie and Jan Gogel.  Kyla plans on attending Indiana University Southeast. 

  • Brittney Lange of Heritage Hills High School, daughter of Kristina and Scott Henderson-Coffey.  Brittney plans on attending Cedarville University to study EarlyChildhood Education. 

  • Rachael Roth of South Spencer High School, daughter of Cheryl and Marquitz Roth.  Rachael plans on attending the University of Evansville to study Education. 

 

The Spencer County Industries Incorporated Scholarship was awarded to:

  • Derek Brown of Heritage Hills High School, son of Darlene and Kenneth Brown.  Derek plans on attending Indiana University to study Computer Science and Technology. 

  • Jessica Ritter of Apollo High School, daughter of Jody Dodd.  Jessica plans on attending the University of Kentucky to study Social Work.

 

The Alieene Vance Memorial Scholarship was awarded to:

  •  David Maldonado of Heritage Hills High School, son of JoAnn and Neil Moldonado.  David plans on attending Indiana University to study Business and Accounting.

Scholarship Awards from Previous Years:

 

 

Abby E. Seifert was awarded $410 from the Community Trust Scholarship, an annual scholarship creared by the Community Scholarship Trust of Spencer County. Abby was a student at Heritage Hills High School.

 

Heather Bowling, Daughter of Tamara and Nathan Bowling of Santa Claus,was awarded $1,123 from the Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship. This is an annual scholarship created by Gene and Christina Schwindel. Heather was a student at Heritage Hills High School.

 

Nicholas Bryant, Son of Sonia Bryant of Evanston, was awarded $1,123 from the Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship. This is an annual scholarship created by Gene and Christina Schwindel. Nicholas was a student at Heritage Hills High School.

 

Laura Sitzman, Daughter of Dennis and Lysha Sitzman of Evanston, recieved $1,123 from the Gene and Christina Schwindel Scholarship which is an annual scholarshiip created by Gene and Christine Schwindel. Laura was a student at Heritage Hills High School.

 

Erica Young, Daughter of Brad and Cathy Young, was awarded $1,000 from the Aileen Vance Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by Don Foertsch and Mason Foertsch in memory of a former employee of the Foertsch Construction Company to encourage children of employees of Foertsch companies to further their education, to recognize academic achievement of those graduating from high school and continuing their education, and to motivate recipients to achieve maximum scholastic and vocational potential. Erica was a student at Heritage Hills High School. Erica plans to attend the University of Indiana to study Biology.

 

Jennifer Myers was awarded $530 from the Raleigh and Thelma Abshier Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by Jeaniece Scheessele to advance education in honor of her parents. Jennifer was a student at South Spencer High School.

 

Kara Smith, Daughter of Kevin and Valerie Smith, was awarded $500 from the Brauns Family Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by Thomas and Vicki Brauns. Kara was a student at South Spencer High School. Kara plans to study Construction Management. 

 

Christine Franklin was awarded $2,000 from the Mike Ryan Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by Mabel M. Ryan in memory of her husband. Christine was a student at South Spencer High School.

 

Samuel Waninger was awarded $7,230 from the Mike Ryan Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by Mabel M. Ryan in memory of her husband. Samual was a student at Heritage Hills High School. 

 

Hanna Sparrow, daughter of Ken and Julie Sparrow, was awarded $6,460 from the Spencer Industries, Inc. Scholarship, an annual scholarship created by the Spencer Industries Incorporated to encourage children of Spencer Industries employees to further their education, to recognize academic achievement of those graduating from high school and continuing their education, and to motivate recipients to achieve maximum scholastic and vocational potential. Hanna was a student at Southridge High School. Hanna plans to attend Vincennes University to study aviation
